Along with posing for photos with Miss England Jessica Gagen and some of the new national finalists for the recent Miss England final launch , which she enjoyed as a break from her job , Alice Jones is focused on a more serious issue .
Working full time as an NHS paramedic , the reigning Miss Black Country has been busy with her own life saving project.
” My current mission is to get defibrillators available 24/7 located on the outside of schools. With nearly 70% of all cardiac arrests happening within 500 meters of a school this vital bit of kit could save someone’s life one day. I volunteer across schools to educate the students and staff on the importance of early defibrillation, cpr and awareness of what a cardiac arrest is. The government are rolling out that every school has a AED but the problem lies with making them accessible to the public and 24/7 as when schools are closed the defibrillator isn’t accessible and of course people unfortunately do fall critically ill outside these hours.
Alice won two top awards in the last Miss England final including the Beautiful Brows influencer award & the national photographic round and placed 5th Runner up .
She hopes with her influence, contacts and resources she can make this mission possible .
Organisers of an international pageant have invited Alice to represent England in the “Face of Humanity” contest next Spring. ” We would love to send her and in turn help support this fantastic project. If we can raise funds for her flight and help Alice with this she can attend & compete on an international stage creating global awareness for her mission ” said Miss England Director Angie Beasley .
The next Miss England National final is taking place at the Grand Station Wolverhampton on May 16th & 17th 2023. 40 Beauty queens from across England will be heading to the Black County to compete showcasing their various Beauty with a Purpose projects.
