The Miss England contest has pledged £250 to the Tara Sansthan charity which officiallly opened its Leicester office on Monday 16th May 2022 .

Guests who attended the opening included the Lord Mayor of Leicester Deepak Bajaj & Resham Singh Sandhu MBE ( former high sheriff of Leicestershire & chairman of the Sikh welfare & cultural society)  and members of the Coventry Mercia Lions Club & Charity Trustees  Davinder Prasad JP, Rakesh Sachdeva & Manjeet Rai .
Also in attendance were the reigning Miss Leicestershire Tia Carter & director of Miss England Angie Beasley who was one of 16 pledges made at the event to sponsor an eye camp.
The charity provides funds for the relief of sickness and preservation of health to the poor in India by provision of financial assistance for the provision of treatment for those who are blind or otherwise suffer from eye related problems and to help with the provision of facilities for eye care .

Tia Carter with Miss England Director Angie Beasley Tia said “It was an honour to attend the grand opening of Tara Santhan UK on Monday. As I work in an opticians I see how struggling with sight can effect peoples lives and even more than that the cost of getting that sight back. I’m going to be starting an apprenticeship course this summer to become an Optical Assistant, once I  have completed my optical degree I would love to help out with charities like Tara Santhan and bring back the light in peoples lives.” 

 

Each donation of £250 will offer services including Diagnosis medicines , operations , lenses spectacles transportation food and post operation care for the patients .
