Happy New Year with a blog from Leah-Carter- Welch the Miss England Sportswoman!
So, Christmas celebrations have come and gone for another year, finally reality has set in! We’ve eaten to much!
.
As we all go back to work, or school a lot of us may set a resolution to try get back in shape and back to the gym, here is a few helpful tips and reminders to help us get back in our routine.
Let’s begin with some Myth Busters,
- You do not need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight, this means you do not need to starve yourself!!
- Your body will already burn 1500 calories (if you’re a woman) or 2000 (if you’re a man) just on normal metabolic processes. Therefore, if you are eating the recommended calories and exercising on top of that… you are already going to start to lose those extra pounds.
- Additionally, it is not healthy to lose a lot of weight quickly and can result in complications, it is far better to do it gradually and safely.
- However, if you are really struggling to see a change one big thing that may impact you is your sugar intake. If you limit/reduce the volume of sugar you are consuming it forces your body to use its fat stores for energy.
