Nri institute– Connecting Indian Diaspora on the occasion of completing its 34th successful year powered NRI Business forum for this first of a kind initiative to energise , empower, educate and envision the youth from around the world.
The initiative NRI Business Forum – Students Federation Conclave collaborated with The Commonwealth, which marked its 50th year of the youth programme and Uganda High Comission UNITED KINGDOM.
The venue for this grand celebration was the historic headquaters of the Commonwealth , The Marlborough House in London, United Kingdom.
The speakers for the NRI BUSINES FORUM – Students Federation Conclave were H.E Nimisha Madhvani , HI Commisioner Uganda to UK , Lord Sraj Paul , Lord Karan Bilimoria, Rt. Hon Thomas Tabewya, Deputy speaker of Parliament Republic of Uganda , Arjoon Sudhoo, Deputy Secretary General, The Commonwealth, Devi Nidhi Saraswat ,Manu Jagmohaan Singh, Secretary General NRI INSTITUTE, Hamid Ibrahim , Suresh Yadav , Secretary General of staff The Commonwealth.
The speeches focused on taking forward the youth . The emphasis was made to put them forward and invest in the youth as they are the future of the world . The theme of the after noon was – ” YEAR OF THE YOUTH”.
The celebrations also witnessed NRI BUSINESS FORUM recognizing the achievements and participat of the youth present at the Nri busines forum studnet Federation Conclave.
More than 30 students from counties like , India , USA, United Kingdom, Dubai , Singapore , etc were I attendance and were bestowed upon with the participation certificate.
A team of past and present Miss England winners & contestants were invited to mark the special occasion and receive special certificates for their efforts in their occupations and studies
They were awarded certificates to highlight their efforts in various fields including Aerospace Engineering , Journalism , social media influencing and Driving HGV vehicles & PT & sports achievements & academia
Jennifer Carless a medical student has won the WASUP award Twice in Miss England ( WASUP stands for WORLD AGAINST SINGLE USE PLASTIC) is presented with her certificate from Lord Bilimoria CBE, DL & Rt Hon Thomas Tabewya , Deputy speaker at the Uganda Parliament . Leah Carter Welch –(22) 2nd Dan Black Belt & PE Teacher in secondary school & winner of the Miss England Sportsround being presented with her certificate by Lord Bilimoria CBE, DL & Rt Hon Thomas Tabewya , Deputy speaker at the Uganda Parliament
Paige Loren – (19) a Small Business owner from Liverpool represented England & Liverpool in both Athletics & England at the Miss Charm contest in Vietnam earlier this year after competing in the Miss England 2022 finals
Afrose Ameen – a Miss England semi finalist and Engineering student who was proudly on the TFL team that performed the recent works on the Underground Elizabeth Line proudly holds her certificate
The celebrations continued at the House of Lords with the Dialouge on Indo British Relations by Hon Seema Malhotra MP , Lord Colgrain , Lord Jeffery Archer and Manu Jagmohaan Singh.
The event witnessed the presentation of the prestigious Nri Institute Award, instituted 34 years ago, “NRI WORLD AWARD”.
More than 30 achievers from around the world were recognized for their achievements in their respective genere.
Receiving a NRI award from Lord Colgrain on behalf of Miss England at the House of Lords was the director Angie Beasley , a former model and beauty queen for efforts & empowering young women.
Angie introduced the make up free round in to the contest in 2019, to encourage natural beauty, the ethical fashion round in 2007 and a fundraising round in the 90s which has since raised thousands of pounds over the years for various charities across the UK & abroad following the ethos of Miss World Beauty with a Purpose .
