The Grand Station Wolverhampton is getting ready to host 40 beauty queens from across the nation for the final of Miss England which takes place over 2 days , 16th & 17th May 2024. One of those ladies will be the local Miss Wolverhampton as organisers have decided to hold a local heat to represent the city to make sure at least one local woman reaches the final !
The Miss Wolverhampton contest launched on the Miss England social media channel recently and organisers are now looking for more local contestants to take part in a virtual application ,initially followed by a fashion shoot at the Grand station on the 18th March for shortlisted contenders.
“This is the first time for many years that Wolverhampton will have had its own representative in Miss England,” said organizer & director of Miss England Angie Beasley .
“The contest isn’t just about looking a beauty pageant , we will be promoting ethical fashion with WE DO ETHICAL , holding a Sports & raising funds for the local charity BALLS TO CANCER . The local winner will be outgoing and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. We are looking for an all rounder a true Beauty with a Purpose. Whoever wins will not only spend two days in May with like minded women from across England to compete for the national title, she will also be invited to attend glamorous events at the Grand station in Wolverhampton throughout the year. “
The first two ladies to reach the 2nd stage of the contest are Sophie & Savannah .

Sophie Dickson (21)
“Im Sophie and I will be entering for Miss Wolverhampton. I have danced from the age of three and am now extremely lucky to say that I dance professionally as my career. My hobbies consist of going to the gym and shopping I am currently 21 years of age and was born in Staffordshire. An interesting fact about me is that I have one blue and one green eye and people say I’m extremely funny!”
Savannah Phillips (23) is the 2nd contender to qualify
Savannah grew up in Penn, a suburb in the south west of Wolverhampton and attended school in nearby Walsall. Her parents still live in Penn who she regularly visits. “I still feel deeply connected to my home city. I’m a triplet born on 29th February, which means this year will be my 6th birthday!
Savannah studied maths at the University of Nottingham and philosophy at the University of Cambridge, and now work as a School Liaison and Access Officer at Oxford University.
“I work with disadvantaged school children in Staffordshire, encouraging them to aim high and consider top universities like Oxford and Cambridge. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, singing, travelling, quizzes and learning languages- I’m currently learning Welsh and Urdu, and looking to take up Punjabi”

The photoshoot and interview round will be held on Monday 18th March at the Grand Station Wolverhampton in the daytime and the judges will elect one winner to wear the local crown in the Miss England final !
