An excited Alexandria said ” I was shortlisted as a ‘Rising Star’, I am now honoured to have been awarded the British Dyslexia Associations ‘Outstanding Young Person Award’ for 2024.
My campaign aims to create better understanding of dyslexia by getting the country talking about it and sharing their own experiences.  There is still a long way to go but one step at a time I hope to change attitudes, understanding and get dyslexic people the support they deserve. “

As part of a campaign to raise awareness of the condition , Alexandria developed a series of interviews looking at aspects of dyslexia to raise awareness for her Beauty with a purpose project in Miss England . Both she and her brother are dyslexic and now Alex is thrilled to have been nationally recognised  by the Third Sector Charity Awards.

This isn’t the first award Alexandria has won this year, in April Alexandria was presented with the Miss Inspiration award in the Miss England semi final in Blackpool .

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) has been the voice of dyslexic people since 1972.
Advice on their website says  “Ten percent of the population are believed to be dyslexic, but it is still often poorly understood. With the right support, the strengths and talents of dyslexic people can really shine” .

Alexandria looked stunning on the night of this special award proudly wearing the same beautiful dress she wore on the stage at the Miss England semi final.
