Balls to Cancer was first established in 2011 to support men with cancer as both Co-Founders Susan and Mark Bates had lost male family members to this horrific disease (Grandfather and father respectively)

“We soon realised from the people asking for our help that we had to open up our services to men and women, so now we help and support anyone with cancer” said Mark.

Angie Beasley , director of Miss England explains

” Firstly , we want to support a local cause to where we are hosting the next national final . We like to try and leave a legacy where ever the Miss England final is held.

Secondly, I know so many people who have and are suffering with this terrible disease called “Cancer” . I personally have lost family members over the years to different types of Cancer , and the stats are that one in two people these days will get cancer at some stage in their lives .

A scary statistic . I think its a very important cause for us all to support .

I hope we can raise lots of awareness and funds in the lead up to and at the next Miss England final.”

Danny Thompson , Sales & Development Manager at the Grand Station , hosts for the Miss England national final recommended the charity as the Beauty with a Purpose project for the event . Danny said  ‘We have worked with Balls to Cancer for a number of years and have seen the amazing work that they do. I’m pleased Angie and the Miss England team have selected them to be there Charity Partner for this very special event.’

The contestants who reach the national final will all be invited to help raise awareness and funds for this deserving cause including being invited to be part of fundraising challenges set by the charity in the lead up to the final.

Fundraising packs for the Miss England 2024 national finalists will soon be circulated with tips and ideas of how they can help .
