Keeping a positive MIND – Hayley is training for the Great North run in memory of her dad as she is announced as a Miss England semi finalist

Hayley Bell (25) from Darlington works in a factory making shower screens. When she’s not working she’s taking part in performing arts and studying musical theatre.

In July this year she decided to compete in the Miss England contest in Virtual heat 5 on the Miss England App. The competition promotes the Miss World Ethos Beauty with a Purpose & women’s achievements with the winner representing England at Miss World which takes place in India in December.

After reaching the shortlist in the public vote ,  Hayley impressed the judges in the interview round  by revealing she is currently training for the Great North Run supporting the MIND charity. Speaking openly Hayley said

“I recently lost my dad and it had been a very difficult time for me and all my family. It has really been a lot to process and I feel supporting this charity can help other people struggling like me.

Mind is a very important charity to me because I and a lot of people I know have struggled with mental health . The mind charity helps people throughout the most difficult times in their lives & I’m focused on raising as much as I can to help the cause.”

Hayley now has a place in the next Miss England semi final which takes place at Viva Blackpool , next to the Blackpool Tower on October 16th .

There she will compete with women from across England for a place in the national final in the Spring of 2024.

The Miss England contest also includes a talent round & Hayley is now hoping to show off her performing arts or ballroom dancing skills in her entry video.

Hayley said ” Blackpool is the home of Strictly so I might focus on my Ballroom dancing skills! I’m super excited to be one of the Miss England semi finalists. I have always been shy with things like this in the past! I cannot wait to join the other girls in the journey.”

Before that Hayley has her fundraising challenge.

The Great North Run takes place on Sunday September 10th .
