A prison officer from Lancaster who held a 3 hour cross fit workout with 100 prisoners for the Balls to Cancer charity  last week has just secured her place in the final 12 of the Miss England final due to be held at the Grand Station Wolverhampton on 17th May .

Melissa Butcher (24)  sponsored by Tyson Fury  “The Gypsy King”   beat 27 women in a gruelling sports round held at the Heart of England events centre . Melissa revealed she was sponsored by Tyson on her Instagram account last Friday.

The sportsround was run by former Royal Marine “Lee Stuart “ in the first round offering a fast track place in the top 12 of the  Miss England final sponsored by Waterman’s Hair.

In addition to her qualifying place in the final , she also received gifts including MK13 skincare  from Scott Henshall & a range of vitamin tablets from New-U.co.uk

Top 3 before the final run around the Lake at the Heart of England!


After competing in a tough 1 hour fitness session, the contestants were finally whittled down to a top 3.   R-L Sophie Dickson from Wolverhampton  , Charlotte Grant from Liverpool &  Melissa Butcher from Lancaster.

The final 3 then had to do the most exhausting part of the challenge including floor exercises and finally a sprint around the huge lake at the Heart of England  before Melissa reached the touchline and was crowned the winner .

Other qualifying rounds in the Miss England final , include a Talent , a Watermans Gorgeous Hair   ,  a  catwalk a public vote and 1920s Wedo Ethical fashion  ( and more ) before the ultimate winner is decided .

The two day Final with 40 contestants takes place on the 16th &  17th May at the Grand Station Wolverhampton.
