Host girl for the contest was Sophie Dickson the reigning Miss Wolverhampton who managed to raise £1500 for the Balls to Cancer charity which is based in Wolverhampton. Sophie was one of the top 10 fundraisers in the contest and  said on her Just Giving Page before the contest “ I have many people close to my heart that I have lost cancer to and someone who means the absolute world to me that is suffering now . If one person gets a Prostate or cancer scan from my awareness campaign ive done my job.”

Its fantastic to see the contestants following the ethos of Miss World Beauty with a Purpose and just because the contest is over it doesnt mean they have to stop this fantastic work and who knows who they will meet along the way to help them with their careers . They really can make a difference”.

ABOUT BALLS TO CANCER

Balls  to Cancer was setup in 2011 by Mark & Susan Bates following the death of Mark’s father, Geoff and Susan’s grandad Peter. Balls to Cancer, a registered charity in the UK was started to help raise awareness and offer support to men dealing with cancer. Within a short time, we realised that women and children also needed our help as there was nothing out there to actually help them either. So now we support everyone.

We’ve been successfully helping men, women and children suffering with cancer giving them the help and support so they really need.

We offer information on all forms of cancer via our website and we’re on hand to offer support by listening and talking. Through the generosity of our supporters, we’re able to look at supporting sufferers financially; giving support with household bills, equipment, clothing, school uniforms and winter coats. Cancer hits everyone it affects physically, mentally and financially and we’re on hand to help where we can.

In addition, we have 2 amazing luxury holiday homes in Burnham-on-Sea where families can share a carefree holiday, without worry; for free. We’re also able to offer free Chemotherapy support packs to anyone going through this challenging treatment.

100% of funds raised or donated goes into Balls to Cancer; you can help by texting BALLS to 70085 (texts cost £3 and 100% goes to Balls to Cancer) or donate here on our donate page.
